Frequently Asked Questions

1. Design-Build Process

  • A: We manage every phase — from architectural design and permitting to material curation and construction. You’ll work with one accountable team that balances design vision with disciplined execution. The first step is contacting us for an initial consultation. We provide in-person as well as in-person initial consultations.

  • A: NGage delivers the precision of architecture and the essence of design through a truly integrated process. Our projects are defined by meticulous detail, elevated finishes, and seamless coordination from concept to completion. We bring the sophistication of a large firm with the attentiveness of a boutique studio — ensuring every client feels heard, informed, and exceptionally cared for throughout the journey.

  • A: We anticipate some level of evolution, so we build flexibility into the contract. After design sign-off, any revision goes through a controlled change-order process with transparent cost and schedule impacts. You’ll always have clarity—and control—over how changes affect your project.

2. Project Scope and Budget

  • A: Multi-level additions, whole-home renovations, custom homes, historic preservations and boutique commercial spaces — including spas, boutique hotels, executive offices, and hospitality environments that require luxury design, detailing and seamless construction coordination.

    • Kitchen Expansions: $150K–$350K+

    • Primary Bathrooms: $75K–$150K+

    • Multi-Level Additions and Custom Homes: Custom quoted
We provide a transparent, line-by-line proposal before construction begins, so there are no surprises.

  • A: From the start, we use detailed line-item estimates and allowances. If a selected item exceeds its budget, you’ll receive alternative options or credit back. Our goal: no hidden surprises, ever.

3. Timelines and Experience

  • A:

    • Design Phase: 8–12 weeks, depending on the size of the build.

    • Permitting: 4–8 weeks (jurisdiction dependent)

    • Construction: 16–30+ weeks
Each project includes a dedicated schedule and progress tracking.

  • A: While remaining in your home may be feasible for smaller projects, our work typically involves comprehensive renovations that impact all major systems — electrical, plumbing, HVAC — and introduce significant dust, sound, and activity. For this reason, we strongly recommend temporary relocation during active construction.

Because NGage’s white-glove concierge services extend beyond the build itself, we assist clients in securing short-term luxury accommodations through our preferred corporate housing partners. From packing, storage, and relocation to move-in and final staging, every detail — down to the placement of the last fork — is handled with care and discretion.

  • A: Delays often stem from permitting, long lead-time materials, or unexpected site conditions. We proactively monitor and communicate these risks, maintain buffer time in the schedule, and keep you updated with weekly progress reviews to mitigate slippage.

4. Boutique Commercial and Partnerships

  • A: Absolutely. Although we have our own principle architect and interior designers, we often partner with architecture and design firms — from boutique studios to global firms — as a trusted build partner who protects design intent and delivers to exacting standards.

  • A: Boutique hotels, executive offices, wellness spas, legal suites, and embassy-grade interiors. Each is tailored to the brand’s aesthetic and operational flow, blending hospitality with architectural precision. Brand-immersion carefully curated to deliver a thorough customer experience, from end-to-end, is our specialty.

  • A: We bring a residential-level finish mindset into commercial spaces. That means finer tolerances, premium materials, and exacting craftsmanship, while coordinating with commercial schedules, code, and systems — so the space feels elevated and functions reliably. Our boutique size allows us to obsess over the details.

5. Technology, Privacy and Next Steps

  • A: We leverage virtual reality and AI-driven design tools to help clients experience their space before it’s built. Our nVision VR platform allows full walk-throughs, while generative design tools optimize layouts and lighting plans.

  • A: We maintain strict confidentiality for all executive and high-profile clients. Our team operates under NDAs when required, limits site access, and ensures all information and visuals remain private.

  • A: Schedule a Design Consultation. We’ll walk your space, understand your vision, and outline a tailored design-build proposal that reflects your goals, budget, and lifestyle.
